We Have a New Executive Director!

New Executive Director Beau Taft FamilyBeau Taft, who has been in youth ministry for over 12 years, with the last 6+ years here in the North Texas Conference, has been a patron of Bridgeport Camp and Conference Center since moving to the conference in 2005.  The last two years of which he was a co-director of both Junior High 2 Camp and Senior High Camp.   Beau graduated from McMurry University in Abilene and for the last four years has been the youth director at Lake Cities UMC, in Lake Dallas.  “I am very flattered to have been selected as the new Executive Director,” says Taft.  “It is a really exciting ministry of our conference, and I look forward to being a part of so many people’s lives that come to camp each year.” Mr. Taft is not the only new position at BCCC.  There is a new Assistant Director as well. Caleb Burk, has been on staff at the camp since 2005, and is now being promoted. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and has been an active member in the community for his entire life and has a deep love for the Camp at Lake Bridgeport. Caleb works directly with each group leader or guest as they plan specific events relating to lodging, food service, and programs. Caleb lives on site in order to assist guests with 24 hour needs. He also is experienced in the food industry and has earned his Food Service Manger Certificate. “I want to give a big thank you to Trueman Hoffmeister, who is the outgoing ED, and Caleb for doing so many wonderful things already at the camp,” states Taft.  “I certainly have some big shoes to fill, but I am eager to step into the role, and to continue to make this camp a great and wonderful place for everyone in and around our conference!”
